UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre Receives Funding from Western Economic Diversification Canada for Two New Mass Spectrometers

Dr. Christoph Borchers, Facility Director of the UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre, has received $663,000 in funding from the Western Economic Diversification Canada Program (WDP) for the purchase of two new mass spectrometers, a Thermo Scientific Orbitrap LTQ Velos, and an Agilent 6490 Triple Quadrupole. The announcement took place at the Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP) and was presented by the Honourable John Duncan, Member of Parliament for Vancouver Island North and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
