• New DAta SElf-Recalibration and Mixture Mass Fingerprint Searching (DASER-MMF) software

    A novel algorithm based on Data Self-Recalibration and a subsequent Mixture Mass Fingerprint search (DASER-MMF) has been developed to improve the performance of protein identification from online 1D and 2D-LC-MS/MS experiments conducted on high-resolution mass spectrometers.

  • CFI Proposal Approved for Regional Designation

    The University of Victoria will submit an application to the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) for the establishment of a Regional Centre for High-field Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry (FT-MS) for Environmental and Life Sciences.

  • Genome BC Receives $50 Million in Provincial Funding

    The Province of British Columbia has announced that $50 million of funding will be provided to Genome BC for it's 2010 to 2015 business plan. The announcement was made by the Minister of Advanced Education Murray Coell at the Vancouver Island Technology Park and included a tour of the UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre.

  • Unifying Canadian Proteomics

    A group of 25 members of the proteomics community gathered at the CPI 2008 meeting to discuss the amalgamation of existing Canadian proteomics organizations and initiatives into a national not-for profit organization encompassing proteomics across Canada with members from all facets of the proteomics field.
